Safety
At Kelso-Burnett, it has always been, and will continue to be, our goal to provide the safest possible working environment for our employees, partners and clients. That’s why safety is an integral part of every project we complete, from the earliest phases of planning through the final execution.
As a critical priority, safety is a responsibility we must all share. That’s why we sponsor industry-wide safety seminars, and provide ongoing scheduled training for all Kelso-Burnett employees. This training covers information on the following:
- Safety Responsibilities
- General Safety Rules
- Accident/Incident Investigations
- Safe Electrical Work Practices
- Lockout/Tagout Procedures
- Confined Space Entry
- Hazard Communication
- First Aid and CPR
- Respiratory Protection
- Fall Protection
- Discipline and Enforcement Procedures
In addition, we also offer the following special site-specific training as required:
- Excavation and Trenching
- Powder Actuated Tools
- Boom and Scissors Lifts

Not only do we strictly enforce our own safety policies, but we also consult with our clients to assure that their own unique safety requirements are met. In addition, weekly tool box meetings and job inspections are required on all sites, with a follow-up inspection by our safety department.
If you have any questions regarding the Kelso-Burnett Safety Program, please call 847-259-0720 and ask for Cathy Kay, Safety Director, or Scott Johnson, Construction Safety Manager.
