Kelso-Burnett Co.
Voice & Data Testing

All testing and commissioning of telecommunication materials, equipment, and systems must be performed in accordance with the technical specifications, industry standards and manufacturer recommendations. The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), in association with the Electronic Industries Association (EIA), publishes TIA/EIA-568-A, entitled "Commercial Building Telecommunication Cabling Standard" that provides minimum performance testing criteria and recommended field test procedures. Also, Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) publishes the "Telecommunications Distribution Methods Manual", which is based on the TIA/EIA standards and provides detailed guidelines for testing copper and optical fiber.

As a premier infrastructure cabling and connectivity contractor, Kelso-Burnett Co. is dedicated to providing our technicians with the most up to date training and equipment related to the testing of both copper and fiber systems. Test results for large projects can be "burned" into a CD-ROM for easy access, eliminating the need for bulky paper files. These test records are maintained in a job file for future reference should a customer misplace the information provided. All test results are carefully reviewed to make sure the system meets all required standards.

Microtest, Hewlett Packard, and Siecor are the primary manufacturers' equipment of choice for all our testing needs. The new generation of testing equipment allows for the forthcoming demands of testing for Category Six and Seven once performance standards are available for these categories. New standards can be implemented and compared with previously tested systems to determine compatibility. This saves our customers the cost of re-testing and disruption of their operations.
